They can be. A legitimate online TRT clinic uses providers licensed in your state, requires blood work and a live visit before any prescription, names the pharmacy that fills it and schedules follow-up labs. Clinics that promise a prescription before labs, or sell testosterone without one, are not.
What this means for you
Use a short checklist. Is the provider licensed in your state, and can you verify it on the state medical board site? Are labs required before the first prescription? Is the visit live rather than a form? Is the pharmacy named and licensed to ship to you? Is there a plan for repeat labs and for managing side effects such as a rising hematocrit or estradiol? Is pricing published? A clinic that passes those questions is practicing medicine online; one that fails them is a storefront.
