Yes. Injectable NAD+ is a compounded prescription medication: a licensed provider must evaluate you and write a prescription, and a licensed pharmacy prepares it. Oral NAD+ precursors such as NMN and NR are sold as dietary supplements without a prescription, but they are not the same product.
What this means for you
The prescription requirement applies to any injectable NAD+, whether self-administered at home or given as an IV at a clinic under medical direction. It exists because an injection bypasses the body's normal barriers and because the sterility, concentration and source of the vial have to be accountable to someone with a license. Sellers offering injectable NAD+ without a prescription are outside that system.
How it works at Biotech Lifestyle
You complete an intake, a provider licensed in your state decides whether NAD+ is a reasonable option for you, and if so a licensed U.S. compounding pharmacy prepares it and ships it with instructions for home use. Follow-up stays with the provider.
